Us Londoners love a great brunch; the coffee, the sourdough and of course eggs! Fried, poached or scrambled, classic or with a twist, there are an unlimited amount of breakfast and brunch spots, so we’ve picked out some of our favourites.
A one minute walk from Qbic, this former wholesale clothes shop turned New York style brunch spot is a welcomed gem within the bustle of Aldgate East. Serving freshly roasted coffee from their own local roastery, Exmouth Coffee Roasters and a large selection of fresh leaf teas. Specialising in breakfast and lunch you can grab a seat and choose from the menu or be tempted by the selection of freshly made pastries, quiches and salads displayed on the counter. They also have a small natural and certified organic speciality food shop. Choose your eggs anyway on sourdough toast for £5, we recommend the poached eggs!

This casual breakfast-til-late neighbourhood spot serves up New York and Middle Eastern influenced dishes. Order one by one or try a bit of everything with their Jerusalem breakfast plates, each costing around £4. Or opt for a brunch main – we recommend the Shakshuka, for £10.50 this middle eastern dish comes in a piping hot pan with eggs poached in a sauce of tomato, chilli, peppers and onions, served with sourdough – of course! Pre-book to secure a table as this small restaurant attracts a large following especially at peak brunch time on the weekend!

This popular colourful food spot can be found at a few locations around London, including Spitalfields, Hoxton, Hackney Wick, London Bridge, Soho and Angel, each venue slightly different from the other but all serving up a cracking all day menu – just look for that bright egg-yolk yellow frontage (or the queue forming outside). Well good things come to those who wait, right!? In this case, we think so! It’ll at least give you time to pick what you want from the vast menu – although we recommend going for the full English, eggs anyway with a little bit of everything! If you’re heading there after a night out go for the Disco Fries for £9 these are described as Saturday night fever, Sunday morning believer, John Travolta’s post boogie woogie breakfast. With pulled pork, bacon, avocado, hollandaise, beer cheese, eggs, fries, chimichurri and spring onion!
