A cheap and cheery cocktail in Peckham

Peckham-Springs

Originally intended as a summer pop up, Peckham Springs has veritably established itself as a permanent London cocktail bar. Tucked under the Peckham Rye railway arches, a short walk from Camberwell University of the Arts and part of the Sassoon Gallery project space, the bar attracts creative practitioners, Londoners from afar and local residents alike.

Cocktails cost just £6 and if it gets too busy, the friendly crowds spill out into the open industrial space between the rail tracks. Peckham Springs is not a bad choice for the thrifty romantic with its two-for-one cocktails, two-for-one pizza deals and an open fire in the garden.

The house cocktail, the ‘Peckham Spring Water,’  is made of Bombay Sapphire gin, elderflower cordial, clapped mint leaves, lime wedges and tonic. Keep your eyes peeled for visiting food popups to – last year the bar had visits from Mother Flipper burgers, the Fundi Pizza team, and Engine Hot Dogs, as well as Italian, Caribbean, and Vietnamese food stalls.
