A love of Virginia Woolf has always drawn me to Bloomsbury, but as the festival shows, it’s about far more than that. heritage and future, architecture and emotion, science and arts, on and off the page, it’s a place that continues to throb with creativity and output. Over five days, between 19 and 23 October Bloomsbury Festival embraces the theme of language, in all its forms, from dance to computer code, music to space and much more. Collaborating with the key artistic, scientific and literary organisations in the area including LSE, UCL, Conway Hall, Blooms Theatre – and pubs – will be hosting concerts, talks, walks, breakfasts, exhibitions and installations. Taking the thread of culture and place, it’s set to be an inspiring festival and in this place that has inspired so many.
