Dennis Severs House_crop

The area around Qbic is steeped in as rich and fascinating history as you can get in London without having Simon Schama give you a private tour of the Tower of London.

To get a true feel for Inner London’s past, a trip to the Dennis Severs’ House by Spitalfields is a must. A tour of the ten rooms in the house reflects the periods between 1724 and 1914. Walking through the house is like being put in a time machine and experience what life in London was once like.

Each room was crafted by Dennis Severs as a “historical imagination” between 1979 and 1999 while he lived in the Georgian Terrace House. Severs left the house to the Spitalfields Trust when he died, with the organisation later opening it to the public.
