We’ve been passing Grind Shoreditch on the 55 for years. We’ve always thought of it as a good coffee shop; a cool brand, but hadn’t taken much more notice than that. We bought a few coffees there over the years – good coffees and noticed other Grinds popping up – the primo location at London Bridge, the stylish quick-stop in Holborn and the list goes on quite impressively. So, when a friend recommended we check out Grind Exmouth for lunch we were definitely not opposed. This stylish little number sits near the Farringdon Road entrance to the market, kinda kitty-corner from Caravan. It truly is bright and airy with big people-watching windows and a pastel colour palette. We really enjoyed our selection of small plates – particularly the fried green tomatoes, pork shoulder and burnt aubergine. It’s much more than a good coffee place. It’s a restaurant/coffeeshop/cocktail bar with an eclectic menu, carefully conceived dishes, and beautiful interiors that holds its own amongst its heavy hitting neighbours.
