While hungry developers may have turned what was once a canal, some crates and a pizza place into a pristine space of concrete walkways and high-rises, restaurant Gotto Trattoria, part of the East Wick foodie hub, is more Amsterdam chic than Apocalypse Now. And it seems the oncoming spring fever coupled with the canalside views, has quickly won the hearts of (lippy) locals and those voracious tourists. All open plan and light-filled, Gotto’s authentic Italian menu spans brunch, lunch and dinner. From poached eggs with pancetta and cimbro cheese to delicate tortellini with courgette flower filling, wash it all down with their home-made vermouth and you’ll be surprised how quickly the time flies by.
