Back in the nineties the deal seemed to be ‘make a couple of pop videos for cred, then switch to ads for the cash’. But occasionally people make the move the other way. Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones could have kept doing the kind of high-end campaigns they helmed for the likes of Nike and BMW but over the last decade it’s their work with Bjork, UNKLE and Massive Attack that have set our hearts a-fluttering. They specialise in gorgeous, ultra-modern fairytales and a chance to catch work from all their different strands is a rare treat. At Gallery 46 they pull together some of their greatest hits; Bjork’s beautiful costumes and photography, elegant film-making for UNKLE, sculpture and even VR, with a first showing of Notget VR. It’s fabulous, it’s free, it’s must-see.
