London Borough of Jam + The London Honey Company

Jam and honey have been given a local makeover by a couple of new companies bringing back homemade techniques and using local bees, making the perfect gifts to take home.
London Borough of Jam is run by Lillie O’Brien in Hackney, east London. All her jams use seasonal fruits with best-sellers including fig and Earl Grey, Amalfi lemon and vanilla marmalade and rhubarb and cardamom. You can find Lillie’s jams at smaller shops all over London, including Leila’s on Calvert Avenue in Shoreditch.
In a lift shaft on the roof of a six story block in Tower Bridge the original beehive from the The London Honey Company sits. That was fourteen years ago and today the company sells honey from beehives all over London and the UK as well as other gifts like beeswax candles and honeycomb. Buy some at the delightful grocer, A. Gold in Spitalfields.
