Originally constructed as a piece of public art to commemorate the 2012 London Olympics, the Arcelormittal Orbit tower, standing at 114m, has been converted into an extremely over-the-top theme park ride. It is the tallest and longest slide in the world! People who are not terribly afraid of heights and tube slides like myself are invited to head to the summit and hop in for a 40 second descent to the bottom. Sounds bloody terrifying but probably quite fun.
Tickets are £10 for adults, probably in a vain attempt to make back some of the £20m it cost to construct the tower in the first place. Good luck to ‘em.
