like to think of myself as a bit of master at the old Instagram filter when it comes to making a photo look half decent, but these guys make me look amateur. Ahem. The annual Sony World Photography Award exhibition at Somerset House is a showcase of exquisite camerawork from all over the world covering every topic of life on earth, including political unrest, inner conflict, the place we call home, architectural lines, natural world, sporting challenges, and everything in between. Labyrinthine, the thirty rooms contain images narrowed down from over 227,000 entries from 183 countries. Some are shocking, some fantastical, some you are glued to and others you want to reach out at. Anyone who doubts whether photography is a true art should get down here sharpish.
