Top 5 Firework Displays in London

Remember, remember the 5th of November… now commonly known as Bonfire night, Firework Night or Guy Fawkes night marks the anniversary of the end of the gunpowder plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament and King James I in 1605.

To commemorate, each year London offers a number of spectacular colourful firework displays and to help you choose we have rounded up some of the best on offer this November whether you wish to stay local or venture further afield.

Staying local:

BLACKHEATH FIREWORKS

One of the biggest free firework displays in the capital, this is a family friendly event hosted by Lewisham Council. Enjoy rides on the funfair from 12pm, a variety of food stalls and a bar open from 5pm, finishing with a wonderful firework display at 8pm.

CLISSOLD PARK FIREWORKS

This year’s chosen theme is ‘movies’ and attendees are encouraged to get creative and dress up as their favourite movie character. Open from 5pm, this family friendly event includes a funfair, street performers and food and drink stalls. Enjoy a spectacular firework display synchronised to music starting at 7.30pm.

VICTORIA PARK FIREWORKS 

The chosen theme this year is sci-fi, hosted by the Mayor of Tower Hamlets this fantastic free firework display will be blasting off from 7pm.

BATTERSEA PARK FIREWORKS



Head down from 6pm for some pre show entertainment and warm up by the food and drink stalls. The bonfire will be lit at 7.30pm, shortly followed with an electrifying display by award-winning pyro technicians, Jubilee Fireworks at 8pm.

Price: £9.50 – £11.00 per ticket. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Children under 10 years old go free, but tickets must still be booked in advance.

ALEXANDRA PALACE FIREWORKS 

Most likely the biggest firework event this weekend, launching the display with a laser show set against an unbeatable panoramic view of London, synchronised to a bespoke mixtape by the ‘king of cut ’n’ paste’ DJ Yoda.

Do not miss the annual ‘Rise of the Phoenix’ parade involving fire eaters, motorised animatronics, aerialists and flame jets, fire breathing, flaming cauldrons, giant puppets, roaming performers, drummers and dancers.

If craft beer takes your fancy then be sure to reserve your spot at the German Bier Festival offering craft beers, specialist bars, street food and live music.

When: Friday 4th kicks off at 8.30pm followed by fireworks at 9pm
Saturday 5th kicks off at 7.30pm followed by fireworks at 8pm
