Top 5 Winter Terraces

One thing London goes crazy for is a great terrace, whatever the weather Londoners are always on the lookout for the next hidden space. Now that summer has passed it’s time to hunt down those cosy, fir-tree-lined terrace bars and restaurants, complete with fire pits, blankets and hot cocktails.

Your secret local. This bar, garden, café & workspace rooftop venue is stocked with local craft favourites, raw draught beer & cider from Trumans, spirits from our friends at East London Liquor Company and fine wines from around the world. Plus, the best freshly made pizza made to order by Hackney Pizza. The guys behind Netil 360 believe in simplicity and good times. Look out for Tres their resident rooftop dog #trestherooftopdog

| Netil 360, 1 Westgate Street, Hackney, London E8 3RL
| Closest station: Cambridge Heath & London Fields

Wander down the too-cool-for-school Redchurch Street you may easily miss the quiet, tucked away rooftop haven placed atop Sir Terence Conran’s warehouse project – hotel rooms, bar, restaurant and bakery. Mediterranean style lounge chairs circle a central fire pit, perfect for cold winter evenings. Enjoy local gins garnished with herbs and citrus fruits picked fresh from the terrace garden and orangery. Closer to the Christmas season The Boundary are well known for their fondue and charcuterie boards.

| The Boundary, 2-4 Boundary St, London E2 7DD
| Closest tube: Shoreditch High Street

Last year Skylight decided to put on a fully-functioning ice rink on top of their rooftop at Tobacco Dock. Take in glorious views of the London skyline whilst gliding over the ice, sipping on mulled wine and tucking into cheese fondue (ideally not all at the same time). Check in closer to the Christmas season to find out more of this year’s plans to get a taste of the Alps in East London.

| Skylight, Pennington St. Car Park entrance, Wapping, London E1W 2SF
| Closest tube: Tower Hill, Shadwell and Wapping

Occasionally we like to venture past our East London borough, in seek of stunning cosy winter terraces. Situated in a Grade II listed neo-Georgian building we found this beautifully elegant, and quintessentially English restaurant, bar and terrace. This year-round destination offers the peace and charm of a secluded secret garden that is fully heated in winter, dressed in stunning snow-covered trees, sparkling lights and white fur throws. Hideaway from the bustling central streets of London and order up a hot chocolate cocktail.

| Dalloway Terrace, 16-22 Great Russel St, Bloomsbury, London WC1B 3NN
| Closest tube: Russel Square

Located in the heart of East Central London, just a few minutes’ walk away from Qbic is Three Tuns Aldgate. This British pub has recently opened up an impressive rooftop garden serving up award winning pies and seasonal cocktails. This is a perfect spot for a casual drink, bite to eat and friendly chats with our Aldgate locals.

| Three Tuns, 36 Jewry Street, Aldgate, London, EC3N 2ET
| Closest tube: Aldgate East
