Is it theatre, is it an app, is it politics? Those of you who’ve been to London before might remember the mighty Shunt, who pioneered immersive theatre in this city and put on spectacles that people are still talking about to this day. Well they’re back, two of them anyway, with a new project that sounds as intriguing as it is unclassifiable. You download the app from Wiretapper, buy a ticket and then set off on an audio-guided journey through the city in which you can never be sure whether things are as they seem. As always with the guys involved it’s a mix of pleasure and politics; they promise a production that both ‘questions our individual liberty as a citizen in a progressively paranoid society’ and is ‘a celebration of London’s iconic landmarks’. One for both the mind and the heart then.
