Qbic Hotels Community & Marketing Co-Ordinator

Qbic Hotel is a design and ideas driven budget hotel that values its community both socially and locally. We are looking for an energetic, switched on, East London loving Community & Marketing Co-ordinator who loves all things social, creating community partnerships and can plan for the future as well as react to the present.

Working alongside the Digital team you will have a range of responsibilities that require you to have a strong grasp of what Qbic represents and be able to communicate this to our community.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Social Media: Managing and growing Qbic’s presence through our blog (QbicRecommends) and various social channels with a focus on driving traffic and consumer engagement.
  • Content Creation: Writing blog posts, articles, newsletter copy and social media material.
  • Events and Planning: Working with the hotel team to support events and activities that drive guest satisfaction in partnership with external providers.
  • Communication/Social Strategy: Creation and implementation of short, medium and long term strategies that will help Qbic to achieve specific public facing goals.
  • Organisation: Keep a simple marketing calendar in partnership with the revenue and digital teams to ensure regular and relevant e-shots are sent out, and maintain the mailing list database and compile all data sources into a single monthly reported format.
  • Website and Promotions: Work with our Revenue Management team to ensure offers and promotions are promoted and expired correctly. Work with our Digital team to ensure the website is up to date and refreshed regularly.
  • Reporting: Using Analytics, other social measurement tools and desktop research, provide updates on the Qbic Community and identify where we can improve as well as where we are performing well

The skills we are ideally looking for are:

  • Great Personality: Qbic stands for fun, curious and creative. We want our Community & Marketing Co-ordinator to enjoy working in collaboration with a team and not be afraid to get stuck in to whatever needs doing.
  • Writing Skills: Brilliant written English is essential, you will be heading up the creation of our content, tone of voice is key.
  • Social Media Experience: Kind of a no brainer! You’ll be a digital native who loves social and knows how to utilise it.
  • Streetwise: A strong knowledge and love of our East London neighborhood, you will be curious and interested in the area with a nose for finding the cool stuff.
  • Flexibility: This isn’t always strictly a 9-5, sometimes you will be required to be available for events during evenings and weekends. We will of course be flexible too.
  • Previous Experience: You are likely to be degree qualified and this is your first or second role since university, or have at least 3 years experience in the workplace.
  • Other: Excellent time management and multitasking skills are essential, good under pressure, some PR experience would be great, and a knowledge or experience of the hotel and leisure industry would be nice but not essential.

SCOPE & MAIN PURPOSE

  • To manage the reservations activities to produce the required levels of room nights at required rates to achieve the anticipated revenue projections.
  • To grow the business at the hotel through proactive selling, rate & occupancy management and the effective conversion of all bedroom enquiries.
  • To support the sales co-ordination team to maximise the sales from small businesses in the surrounding area.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • To achieve all revenue targets for rooms achieving the correct mix of market segments to assist in achieving other revenue targets for all additional revenue producing areas for the hotel.
  • To create maximum occupancy, rate and revenue for the hotel on an ongoing basis.
  • To conduct meetings daily with the on-site team.
  • Ensure that the team is constantly improving their product knowledge to maximise revenue and the service provided.
  • To create an environment which promotes good employee morale and encourages the team to have a high level of commitment.
  • To be personally fully trained on Hetras PMS to ensure that the team are trained to a sufficient and competent level.
  • To ensure that the hotel has an agreed rate strategy in place for the following year and this is communicated as necessary.
  • To be involved in the planning, production and execution of a rate management programme that maximises occupancy and rate for the hotel and meets agreed targets.
  • To record and produce accurate management information with regard to sources of business identified in the business plan.
  • To be fully aware of competition and market trends to support the sales team in generating future business and encourage repeat business.
  • To ensure all the reservations and front office teams are informed on rate management and daily sales strategy to maximise rate and occupancy.
  • To manage group bookings.

manage room reservations to ensure: –

  • A solid base of business through correspondence checks, effective chase systems and the implementation of the hotels credit policy.
  • Maximise the conversion of room enquiries.
  • Gaining repeat business.
  • Develop existing business.
  • Work within the departmental budget figures, maximising revenue and minimising expenditure.
  • To be involved in the production of departmental forecasts/budgets as required and communicate figures to the team to aid their understanding of the business and the importance of their contribution to the business success.
  • To forecast the business weekly, monthly and for at least three periods ahead.
  • To ensure that all packages are correctly set up to achieve accurate billing information.
  • To take personal responsibility for the accuracy of PM Accounts so that all revenue is effectively charged and collected.
  • Maintain and update OTSs as well as other distribution channel management.
  • Participate in guest activities that promote the hotel product and its services.
  • To ensure compliance throughout the department and hotel with brand, hotel and company operating standards.
  • Understand your role and responsibilities in terms of the hotel Health & Safety Policy.

Required experience:

  • Revenue Management: 1 year

Salary up to £40k + Bonus depending on experience
