Our favourite affordable restaurants in Amsterdam

Amsterdam has so many restaurants, it’s hard to know where to start. Especially when you’d rather save your money for shopping, going out, or travelling on to your next destination. The team at Qbic Hotel Amsterdam WTC pooled its extensive restaurant experience to create their top-five list of favourite, affordable restaurants.

La Cubanita: the best Cuban cuisine in Amsterdam

We’ve mentioned this restaurant before and for good reason. It’s one of the best Cuban restaurants in Amsterdam with an all-you-can-eat tapas menu for just €17.50 on Sunday through Thursday and €22.50 on Friday and Saturday. They offer a huge variety of cold tapas, fish tapas, vegetarian tapas, and more. Be sure to try their honey-glazed chicken with a glass of sangria to quench your thirst. Prefer to order à la carte? No problem! Few places in Amsterdam offer a menu as tasty and extensive as La Cubanita for such an affordable price.

The Seafood Bar Amsterdam

You can now enjoy the best seafood in town at one of two Seafood Bar locations: Van Baerlestraat and Spui Square. They serve up a tasty lobster soup, a fish platter for two, fish & chips, mussels, crab cakes, and more. Their organic, unprocessed, pure seafood is served fresh daily, as it should be.

Casa di Sergio: for lovers of Italian cuisine

We can sum this one up in a few words: if you want Italian, go to Casa di Sergio. The spaghetti bolognese and the pizzas come highly recommended. The menu also includes antipasti, risotto, and other delicious dishes you’d expect from a great Italian restaurant.

Cannibale Royale: meat until midnight

What’s in a name? You guessed it, this restaurant is a meat-lover’s paradise. Enjoy your meat fresh off the grill with a cold beer or a glass of wine. While most restaurant kitchens close by midnight, at Cannibale Royale you can enjoy a hamburger or a T-bone steak until long after the clock strikes twelve. The kitchen is open until 3:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, which means chips aren’t your only late-night snack option. Lucky for you, Cannibale Royale has two locations: one near Koningsplein Square and one in the De Pijp district.

Cannibale Royale | Handboogstraat 17a and Ruysdaelkade 149 | T +31 (0)20 233 71 60 and +31 (0)20 233 58 60

Foodhallen Amsterdam

If you’ve ever been to an indoor food market like Torvehallerne in Copenhagen, Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid, or Borough Market in London you’ll know what to expect at Foodhallen in Amsterdam. It’s hard to pick a favourite; everything’s that good. Try a hamburger at The Butcher, culinary bitterballen at De Ballenbar, Vietnamese street food at Viet View, fresh sushi at Meneer Temaki, or the famous steak sandwich at Entrecôte Mobiel. It’s all delicious!

Foodhallen Amsterdam | Bellamyplein 51

Of course this list doesn’t cover all the affordable restaurants in Amsterdam. If you’re looking for something more specific, feel free to ask us. See you soon in Qbic Hotel Amsterdam WTC and enjoy your delicious night out!
