Qbic Hotel WTC Amsterdam is located in the heart of Amsterdam’s business district, the ‘Zuidas,’ or ‘south axis,’ between Schiphol Airport and the city centre, an area characterized by office buildings. This district also has plenty of restaurants catering to the office workers and residents, offering them plenty of opportunities to go out for lunch or dinner. We’ve tested the district’s restaurants personally, and you’ll find our four favourites below!
The pop-up restaurant BAUT by chef Michiel van der Eerde has become well-known since its opening. The pop-up restaurant has had two other locations before being opened in its present spot at Pr. Irenestraat 31-33. This incarnation of the restaurant is decorated in an all-black theme. BAUT Zuidas will be open at its current location until the end of May 2016 at least, but the nature of a pop-up restaurant means that this location is also temporary, so come here while you still have the chance! What’s on the menu? Global cuisine, from traditional French bisque to Latin American ceviche to Thai coconut soup.
If you walk outside our front door, head right and then right again, you’ll find Wagamama on your left. Are you a fan of Japanese cuisine? Here you’ll get the best ramen soup, plenty of noodle and rice dishes, Asian beers, curries, and some typical Asian desserts like mochi balls or banana katsu (fried bananas).
If you’re looking for pizza, pasta, and other fine Italian dishes, the Italian trattoria Corso Como in the World Trade Centre is the place to satisfy your appetite. It’s conveniently located very close to our lobby, and we’ve tried it personally and we love the food. As they say in Italy, buon appetito!
The name says it all: at Bagel Nash you can get bagels! Order your bagel at the counter and get a seat at the window or, if you’re lucky, on the small terrace, a perfect spot for people-watching. We especially love the eggplant and goat cheese bagel, but of course there are a lot of other fillings to choose from.
Feel free to ask about our favourite dishes when you check in at Qbic. We’re looking forward to sharing our tips for the area with you. See you soon!
