Since we don’t have a rooftop bar at Qbic, we make sure you find the way to some amazing rooftop bars elsewhere in Amsterdam. Hotels happen to be home to many of the best bars and even when you’re staying overnight at Qbic, you can still visit those rooftop spots without actually staying there!
Once upon a time, Canvas was the lunchroom for employees of Dutch newspaper ‘De Volkskrant’. Following the redesignation of the building in Amsterdam East, it has been transformed into a rooftop bar including a restaurant and club. You can visit Canvas on the seventh floor all day long, starting with breakfast, watching the sunrise or sunset, having dinner in the evening, and staying there until it turns into a nightclub around midnight. Maybe you’ll even watch the sun come up again.

This rooftop bar is known for having one of the best panoramic views over Amsterdam! At SkyLounge Amsterdam, locals get together alongside people on business trips and tourists to enjoy a great tasting coffee during the day or a fancy cocktail in the evenings. On Fridays and Saturdays, SkyLounge Amsterdam plays host to a DJ.

Just opened this spring, the brand new A’DAM Toren (Amsterdam Tower) is home to Madam: the highest skybar and restaurant in the city. You’ll see the tower right in front of you as you walk out of Amsterdam’s Central Station on the north side – it’s so tall it’s impossible to miss. At Madam you can enjoy the view over Amsterdam from the ‘north side of the IJ from the 20th floor. Our advice is to go there for dinner in the evening and watch how diners become clubbers, and wine-drinkers switch to cocktails. It’s a smooth metamorphose that will let you stay there until late.

One of the things we love most about Mr Porter is the range of fancy cocktails served by world-class bartenders at the 360-degree bar. In good weather, cocktails are also served on the sunny terrace next to the swimming pool. It may not be the highest rooftop bar but that doesn’t matter as the vibe to be found at Mr Porter makes it a perfect experience.

Another great rooftop bar that opened in Amsterdam East this spring is NEST, a green oasis where they grow their own herbs to use in dishes and cocktails. Every time they harvest their crops you’ll find something new on the menu! NEST is a green oasis near Amsterdam Amstel station you should definitely visit when you’re in the area.

Some people say the view of Amsterdam from Floor 17 is the best they have ever seen. We find it difficult to choose our favourite between Madam, SkyLounge, and Floor 17. Floor 17 offers a view of the west side of Amsterdam and if the lovely views and drinks are not enough to lure you out to Rembrandtpark, Floor 17 hosts rooftop movie nights during the summer!
Floor 17 | Staalmeesterslaan 410
Enjoy the view!
