After wandering around the city you’ll probably be up for a cup of coffee, and a few minutes to rest your tired limbs before heading back into the city again. At Qbic Hotel WTC Amsterdam, we asked our staff members to share their favourite coffee bars in Amsterdam, since they live in the city and regularly visit various coffee hotspots in their free time. The coffee scene In the Netherlands is buzzing; brewing coffee is a true skilled profession, and the baristas know absolutely everything about coffee, creating that perfect espresso, and latte art. Amsterdam even has its own Amsterdam Coffee Festival. You couldn’t get any better insider tips than these!
This place is the favourite coffee bar of one of our staff members: ‘Really delicious and fresh coffee from Ethiopia, and their filter coffee is to die for, as is their banana bread. And it doesn’t hurt that one of the owners is really handsome.’ Need we say more? The perfect cup of coffee is all about the details. These specialized coffee roasters from Amsterdam focus on quality in order to serve you a better cup, and the producers receive a good price for a good product.

This one is a tip from the Qbic staff as well: ‘I think this is the best Coffee Company in Amsterdam. These baristas really know what they’re doing. Coffee Company Oosterdokskade was where I tasted the best and sweetest cortado ever!’
Coffee Company Oosterdok | Oosterdokskade 137 – Amsterdam
If you always end up ordering carrot cake or red velvet cake, there is only one coffee place to recommend for you, and that’s De Drie Graefjes. This place is famous for their cakes! The best advice when planning a visit to De Drie Graefjes is to make sure you’re at least a little bit hungry when you get here.
De Drie Graefjes | Gravenstraat 13 and Rokin 128 – Amsterdam
Several seating areas located in a beautiful industrial building make Café Van Mechelen not only an ideal place to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee, but also a perfect place for lunch or dinner. We haven’t tried the burgers ourselves, but we’ve been told they’re really tasty!
Van Mechelen | Sloterkade 96/97 – Amsterdam
We have mentioned this cat café before, Amsterdam’s one and only place to drink some purrrfect coffee while stroking a cat at the same time. What an ultimate moment of relaxation this is… We advise you to reserve in advance since they’re almost always fully booked.
