On 22 March, the gates will open once again to the Keukenhof, the Netherlands most popular spring attraction. More than seven million flowers will be in full bloom and will cover the 32-hectare area in a sea of colour. Do you feel the urge to head outdoors as soon as you spot the first rays of spring sunshine? At the Keukenhof, you can spend the entire day strolling through colourful fields of flowers and experience spring at its best!
This year’s theme is Romance in Flowers, as the two are inextricably linked. The historic Keukenhof park was designed during the Romantic period in the nineteenth century as an ornamental garden for Keukenhof castle. The flower shows will also have romance as their theme, showcasing the most romantic flower of all time: the red rose, the symbol of love. The Keukenhof season will conclude with Romance at Keukenhof, a classical music festival with the park’s stunning flowers as its backdrop. This is romance at its finest.
The park is open daily from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM on 22 March 2018 until 13 May 2018, including Sundays and bank holidays.
You can buy tickets at the reception desk of Qbic Amsterdam WTC. A standard ticket costs €18 and a ticket with transport to and from the Keukenhof costs €29.50. You can also depart from Schiphol Airport. For the ultimate Keukenhof experience, buy an all-in ticket that includes a six-hour tour of the Keukenhof or a tour of Zaanse Schans or Volendam.
If you are travelling by car, Keukenhof is located between Amsterdam and The Hague and is easily accessible via the A4 motorway (exit Nieuw-Vennep) and the A44 motorway (exit 3, Lisse). Follow the ‘Keukenhof’ signs. If you are staying at Qbic Hotel, you can also go to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and take bus 858 in the direction of Keukenhof. This bus departs from the bus stop at Arrivals 4.
