Sure, you can take tram 5 at Qbic, hop off at Leidseplein and dive into the first bar, where you probably won’t see too many locals because of the amount of tourists with the same brainwave, but it’s better, or should we say more fun, to visit one of the following clubs or stages in Amsterdam for a top-notch performance.
Paradiso is a music and cultural venue in a former church that has been an institute in Amsterdam for more than 40 years. Which artists perform here? Or rather, which ones don’t? … Big names such as David Bowie, Prince, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Lady Gaga, and the Rolling Stones have performed here. Paradiso also has a keen eye for lesser-known artists, and you just might be able to say a few years down the line, when that unknown artist has reached global fame, ‘Remember, back then, that show in Amsterdam? We were there!’

On the seventh floor of the former Volkskrant office, Club Canvas is waiting for you. A restaurant and bar during the day, it mixes things up from 11:00 PM, moving the tables aside, and pumping the volume up. This is the perfect place if you want a night out of eating, drinking, and partying without changing location.
